Two Riva1920 projects join the annual selection showcasing excellence in international design.

A new and important recognition for Riva1920: WRAP, the bench designed by LualdiMeraldi Studio, and WEB, the table designed by Authentic Design, have been selected for the ADI Design Index 2026 in the Design for Living category.

Presented at the ADI Design Museum in Milan, the annual selection brings together projects identified by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory as representative of the research and evolution of contemporary Italian design.

As part of the exhibition dedicated to the ADI Design Index 2026, WRAP is also on display at the ADI Design Museum, becoming part of the exhibition showcasing this year’s selected projects to the public.

With their inclusion in the Index, WRAP and WEB also officially enter the selection process for the ADI Compasso d’Oro 2028.

WRAP: Cedar Becomes a Statement

Designed by LualdiMeraldi Studio, WRAP is carved from a single block of solid scented Cedar of Lebanon. Its sinuous, enveloping shape is inspired by a rolled-up sheet of paper, transforming the solidity of wood into a visually soft and lightweight presence.

Another distinctive feature is the slightly off-centre nautical rope detail, which appears to hold and shape the volume. A design in which material, craftsmanship and creative vision achieve a refined balance.

WEB: Solid Wood and Innovation

WEB, designed by Authentic Design, Riva1920’s in-house research and development studio, brings together the tradition of solid wood and a distinctly contemporary material.

The round solid wood top, composed of edge-glued staves, is supported by an interwoven carbon fiber base. Despite its visual lightness, the structure provides the strength required to support the weight of the solid wood top. The result is a table in which seemingly contrasting materials come together in a clean and distinctive structure.

Two Projects, One Shared Vision

Despite their different languages and materials, WRAP and WEB express two complementary aspects of Riva1920’s research: on the one hand, the ability to enhance natural materials and craftsmanship; on the other, the desire to explore new design and technological solutions.

Their selection for the ADI Design Index 2026 represents an important recognition for the work carried out by Riva1920 together with its designers and in-house team, and now opens the path for both projects towards the Compasso d’Oro 2028.
